A large black bear often sleeps underneath this abandoned house in a residential neighborhood in South Lake Tahoe, California (USA). Local Bear Expert Toogee, a volunteer for Lake Tahoe Wildlife Care helps to track and evict bears that have denned down under houses and on peoples property. Bears in South Lake Tahoe are increasingly active even in Winter when they should be in Torpor, due to the year around supply of food to be found living close to humans. After this bear was found sleeping under an abandoned house during the day, he was captured peaking through a hole in the fence shortly after dark with a camera trap placed outside.
