Urban coyotes thrive in Chicago, Illinois (USA) due to its sprawling suburbs littered with green spaces and abandoned lots, often connected by an extensive system of railway tracks that helps coyotes avoid detection and traffic. This coyote was captured via camera trap at an archery range in Lincoln Park, near downtown Chicago. The camera was placed with permission from the Chicago Parks District in partnership with the McGraw Wildlife Foundation and the Cook County Coyote Project led by Wildlife Biologist Dr. Stanley Gehrt.
